Teaching Reviews

Past Participants' Experiences

"The Chinese Medicine Rotations program was exactly what I was looking for in a continuing education course.

It provided the support I needed to improve my diagnostic skills in both herbs and acupuncture, especially with complicated cases- invaluable as a relatively new practitioner.

The synchronous classes were always an opportunity to ask questions and learn from the case studies and insights of the other brilliant acupuncturists taking the program.

Evan is a gifted teacher who gives 100% every time, and I feel lucky to be learning from his years of experience and scholarshi

"The clinical specialties course has proven to be an invaluable resource.

It has deepened and strengthened my: understanding of individual herbs as well as formulas; tongue diagnosis skills; the use of the extra and primary channels for specific ailments and patterns; biomedical understanding of the specialties covered.

The opportunity to present and observe case studies brought the knowledge to life. I feel more confident and better prepared to approach the care of my patients. Complex cases are less intimidating because I have better tools to break down what I am observing.  I am constantly referencing the videos and adding to my notes. They are jam packed with valuable information.

I'm extremely grateful that I enrolled. Thank you for taking the time to put it all together."

"I would highly recommend taking the Chinese Medicine Specialty Rotations Program. It is an in-depth exploration of many of the most common complaints seen in acupuncture clinics, which makes it extremely practical. Taking the course has deepened my understanding of Chinese medicine theory in relation to these common complaints. I am now also better equipped to interpret information about my patients' Western diagnoses and treatments through a Chinese medicine lens because of Evan's lectures combining both Western and Eastern perspectives. For each health condition, the course covers both herbal and acupuncture treatment strategies. This has helped me to create more powerfully synergistic treatment plans. Many courses focus on either herbs or acupuncture in the treatment of particular conditions, but this course achieves a true integration of the two topics. The live Q&A and case study sessions are invaluable in tying all of the lecture information together and applying it to complex individual cases, along with added discussions of pulse, tongue, and diagnostic questioning. My confidence and ability to create customized herbal formulas has increased substantially as a result of taking this class, and my patients are seeing the benefits in terms of better clinical outcomes."

"I have taken both the Yao Shan Chinese Herb Program and the Chines Medicine Specialty Rotations Program and they have both been extremely valuable to me. These programs have profoundly influenced my practice and understanding of Chinese Medicine, and have given me the tools I needed to become a better practitioner. Because of the Clinical Specialties program I am much more competent working with patients who are experiencing complex illnesses and disease patterns, and I am far better at diagnosis than I was prior to taking the course. The case studies were a great way to blend theory and lecture into real life scenarios and offered me valuable skills in implementing different treatment strategies. I have also received great feedback from my own patients since starting the program, and have personally seen a lot of success using the techniques covered in the course. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to further their study and abilities in Chinese Medicine, and to anyone looking to improve their patient's care in a meaningful and impactful way."

"The depth of detail into both the allopathic and Chinese medicine perspectives of the clinical specialties you study in this deep dive should be a doctorate program.  I feel like I not only have expertise in these 5 areas but also have references of notes I can quickly access in one place with any answers I need to provide top notch care to my patients."
